Version History • Play without time limits again: the 10-minute daily limit is gone on every platform, including arcade. Each platform still has one free core; its other cores need Pro.
• RetroGo Pro now unlocks advanced features: turning on cheats, fast-forward, more than 3 manual save slots per game and overwriting saves, custom controller mapping, more custom on-screen control layouts per platform, and combos of your own.
• Everything you already set up stays and keeps working: cheats you turned on, saves, control layouts, combos and controller mappings. Fast-forward now needs Pro. Nothing changes for anyone who already has Pro.
• Fixed subscribing again after a subscription ended, which failed on the first tap saying there was nothing to restore.
• Fixed a controller that reconnected after dropping off landing on player 2 or not controlling the game.
• The purchase page now selects the welcome price while the offer lasts. 1.13.1 2d ago This update lets you customize the on-screen controls, adds combo buttons, control haptics and game rumble, and brings DualShock sticks and rumble to PlayStation games, along with several fixes.

• Custom On-Screen Controls
Move, resize, fade or hide any on-screen button except Start, and save the result as a named layout. Choose a layout for one game, or use it for every game on the platform, from Control Layouts in the in-game menu or the game settings; each pick shows right away over the paused game. The editor moves the face buttons together or one by one, snaps to edges and other controls, lets you edit portrait and landscape separately, and supports undo and reset.

• Combo Buttons
Press several buttons at once, with optional turbo. Platforms come with ready-made combos, such as A+B turbo on NES, SNES, Game Boy and Master System, A+B+C and X+Y+Z on Mega Drive and Saturn, and attack plus jump for arcade games, and you can make your own from two to four buttons in the layout editor.

• Control Haptics and Game Rumble
The on-screen controls give haptic feedback when pressed: Soft, Light, Medium, Heavy, Rigid or off. With Game Rumble on, your iPhone vibrates when a game rumbles, such as a crash in a racing game; with a controller that has its own rumble motors, the controller rumbles instead. Both can be set for all games, a core or a single game.

• DualShock for PlayStation
PlayStation games can now use a DualShock controller, with analog sticks and rumble. Choose Standard Controller or DualShock (the default) under Controller Type for PCSX-ReARMed and Beetle PSX. The PlayStation on-screen layout now has the D-pad and left stick side by side, with the shoulder buttons in one row.

• Hold Fast-Forward to Pick a Speed
Hold the fast-forward button to choose its speed (2x, 3x, 4x or 6x); the speed is saved for that game. A short tap still turns fast-forward on and off.

• Bug Fixes
Fixed controller button mappings not being saved when the settings were closed from the mapping page.
Fixed on-screen buttons pressing the wrong button in some cores after a physical controller was remapped.
Fixed an occasional freeze when pausing a game.
Fixed the offline resources alert saying network access was denied on first launch even after you allowed it.
Fixed Contact Us doing nothing when the Mail app had no account set up. 1.13.0 4d ago This update adds the Beetle Saturn core, a more accurate way to play Sega Saturn games, and makes the cheat library and offline resources lighter and more reliable.

• Beetle Saturn
The new Beetle Saturn core joins Yabause as a second Saturn core. It is far more accurate, with more reliable graphics, music and save states, and runs games that Yabause shows or plays incompletely. It needs a faster device and the Saturn BIOS: sega_101.bin for Japanese games and mpr-17933.bin for US and European games. It comes with a curated set of core options.

• Play mds/mdf Disc Images in More Cores
Disc games in mds/mdf format now also run in cores that don't read that format, such as Beetle Saturn and Beetle PSX. They're converted when the game starts, and your game files are left untouched.

• Missing BIOS Warning
When a core that needs a BIOS, such as Beetle PSX or Beetle Saturn, has none added, you're told which files are missing before the game starts, and you can cancel or launch anyway.

• Smaller Cheat Library
The cheat template library is much smaller, 85 MB instead of 131 MB, and faster to browse.

• More Reliable Offline Resources
Updating the app no longer downloads unchanged offline resources again. Failed downloads are retried automatically and resume when the network comes back.

• Bug Fixes
Fixed being unable to delete a game, or the folder holding it, after its game file was already gone. 1.12.0 6d ago This update adds the Flycast core, so RetroGo now plays Sega Dreamcast games and NAOMI and Atomiswave arcade games.

• Dreamcast Support
The new Flycast core plays Sega Dreamcast games, plus NAOMI, NAOMI 2 and Atomiswave arcade games. iOS doesn't allow JIT, so the core runs as an interpreter, and demanding 3D games may not reach full speed on older devices. Dreamcast games work best with the BIOS, and arcade games need their arcade BIOS.

• Controls and Core Options
Dreamcast has its own on-screen controller layout, with a coin button for arcade games, plus a curated set of Flycast core options.

• One-Step Import for .lst Arcade Games
NAOMI and Atomiswave games in .lst format are imported as a single game in your Library, and you'll be told if any of their files are missing.

• More Games and Cheats
Discover now covers Dreamcast, NAOMI, NAOMI 2, Atomiswave and SG-1000, and the cheat template library adds Dreamcast games with automatic matching.

• More Accurate Cheat Matching
Fixed cheat templates not matching automatically for multi-file games such as cue and gdi. USA and World releases now match the right template too.

• Cores Follow the App Language
Cores now use RetroGo's language instead of the system language. After you change it, core option names and the in-game language of cores such as PPSSPP follow it from the next game you start. 1.11.0 Oct 6 This update changes RetroGo Pro: every feature is now free for everyone, and Pro means unlimited play.

• Every feature is free
Cheats, fast-forward up to 6x, unlimited manual save slots, controller button mapping, and advanced core and game settings no longer require Pro.

• Pro means unlimited play
Free users can play 10 minutes a day on each platform's free core. Only time spent actually playing counts — not while paused, in a menu or in the background — and it resets at midnight. The free cores are FCEUmm for NES, Gambatte for Game Boy, PCSX-ReARMed for PlayStation, and the only core on every other platform. Pro removes the limit and unlocks every emulator core.

• Welcome offer
For 30 minutes after you first open the Pro page, you can get Lifetime Unlock at a special price, with exactly the same benefits.

• Multi-disc games merged automatically
Discs that come without an .m3u are merged into one game in the Library on import, with disc switching during play and one memory card shared by all discs.

• Arcade BIOS problems caught earlier
The launch check reads the BIOS folder directly, so it stays accurate even after files are changed in the Files app, and importing an incomplete BIOS tells you which files are missing. 1.10.0 Oct 3 This update switches to new emulation cores for Sega consoles, so Mega Drive, Master System and Game Gear games run more accurately.

• Mega Drive / Mega-CD now use ClownMDEmu
More accurate emulation, with save states, cheats and core options. The cartridge region (Japan, USA or Europe) is detected automatically, so games no longer stop at a region lock screen. .smd files run directly, and Mega-CD games don't need a BIOS.

• Master System / Game Gear now use Gearsystem
A highly accurate Sega 8-bit core that also adds SG-1000 support. The on-screen controls now use a two-button layout that matches the original controllers.

• PicoDrive core removed
PicoDrive's license doesn't allow use in commercial products, so it has been replaced by open-source cores whose licenses do. 32X and Pico games are no longer supported, and save states made with PicoDrive can't be loaded by the new cores. 1.9.1 Oct 1 This update brings the MAME arcade core — over 4,000 classic arcade games, now playable on iPhone and iPad.

• MAME Arcade Core
Built on MAME 0.289, with support for Neo Geo, CPS1/CPS2/CPS3, PGM, Cave, NAOMI, Atomiswave and many more arcade boards — covering most classic arcade games.

• Arcade Games over Local Network
Fight in The King of Fighters or team up in Metal Slug on two devices connected to the same Wi-Fi.

• Automatic Arcade Set Management
Games are recognized on import and named with their official titles. BIOS files such as neogeo.zip go straight to the right folder and are merged with any copy already there. Before a game starts, missing files are checked and files from its parent set are linked in automatically.

• Library Health Check and One-Tap Repair
See which games are complete and which files are missing on the MAME core page, then repair one game or all of them. Original files are backed up first.

• Arcade Cheats
Import Pugsy's MAME Cheat Collection and most arcade games get cheats: pick a weapon, choose a starting stage, or trigger one-tap actions. The cheat page includes a step-by-step guide, and you can import the downloaded zip right from it — no unzipping needed.

• On-Screen Controls Made for Arcade
A six-button layout by default, matching arcade fighting games, with one-tap switching to a four-button layout during play.

• Stability Improvements
Closing a game is now more thorough and stable, and save-state lists that were sometimes incomplete now show every state. 1.9.0 Sep 29 This update introduces Core Options, putting the tuning power of each emulation core in your hands.

• Core Options
Adjust a core's own settings right from the game settings: aspect ratio, palettes, filters, resolution, overclocking, audio processing and more. Everything is grouped by topic and written in plain language.

• All 15 cores covered
Each core's options have been curated: settings that don't apply on iOS are left out, and related options appear or hide as you make your choices — no more scrolling through a wall of unfamiliar switches.

• Set per core, or per game
Define a setup once for a whole core, or fine-tune a single game without affecting anything else.

• Most settings apply instantly
See the result without leaving the game, so you can tweak while you play. The few options that need the core to reload are clearly marked.

• Custom palettes for NES cores
FCEUmm, Nestopia and Mesen can import your own .pal palette file, for the exact look you remember.

• Better on iPad
The tab bar now stays at the bottom, matching iPhone, along with layout fixes when rotating or resizing. 1.8.0 Sep 20 Sega Mega Drive support, auto-matched Mega Drive cheats, and one-tap save overwrite.

• Added the PicoDrive core, bringing Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, 32X, Game Gear, Master System, and Mega-CD games to RetroGo.
• Mega Drive titles are now in Discover — browse and look up games right inside the app, with Chinese names that follow your app language.
• Added a Mega Drive cheat template database with automatic CRC32 matching, so cheats bind to recognized ROMs with no manual setup.
• Reworked save states into a sectioned list: overwrite an existing save in one tap instead of only creating new ones, and watch your save land in the list before the screen closes.

Thanks for playing! Have feedback? Reach us via Settings › Contact Us. 1.7.1 Jun 25 LAN play, smarter cheats, and a stick that follows your thumb.

• Added LAN Multiplayer — host or join a game over the same Wi-Fi network with automatic Bonjour discovery, no setup or accounts required. A live room panel shows players, roles, and ping in real time.
• Added a Popular Games section to the cheat template catalog, making it faster to find cheats for well-known titles without searching.
• Cheat templates can now be unbound manually, so the auto-matcher won't re-attach the same template in future sessions.
• System cheat templates can now be copied as editable user cheats in one tap — customize any built-in entry without modifying the original.
• The analog stick now features dynamic thumb tracking: the base follows your finger as you drag, and keeps responding even when you move outside the original touch zone.

Thanks for playing! Have feedback? Reach us via Settings › Contact Us. 1.7.0 Jun 19 Unlock cheats, cleaner discovery, and smarter game names.

• Added Cheats — create custom cheat codes, enable them in game, and browse built-in cheat templates for supported platforms.
• Added cheat template search, so you can look up available templates by game name.
• RetroGo can now automatically match cheat templates using ROM metadata when available.
• Cheat templates are delivered as an optional on-demand download, keeping the initial app size smaller.
• The Discover page now groups different variants of the same game into one cleaner entry.
• Added Chinese game names for supported titles, improving browsing and search when using Chinese.
• Improved in-game pause and resume timing for menus and popups.

Thanks for playing! Have feedback? Reach us via Settings › Contact Us. 1.6.0 Jun 15 Make the in-game controls your own — and the whole app now rotates with your device.

• Customizable in-game toolbar — rearrange, pin, or hide the top buttons, with the rest tucked into a More menu.
• New landscape lock button to keep the game fixed in landscape while you play.
• The entire app now rotates with your device, not just the game screen.
• Turbo speed levels — Very Slow, Slow, Medium, Fast, Very Fast — set per core or per game.
• Tap-to-lock Turbo for the X/Y buttons: a quick tap keeps auto-fire running hands-free; tap again to release.
• In-game toolbar icons now have subtle shadows, so they stay clearly visible even over bright scenes.
• Added Contact Us in Settings to send feedback by email.

Thanks for playing! Have feedback? Reach us via Settings › Contact Us. 1.5.0 Jun 3 This is a small follow-up update to RetroGo 1.4.

• Added in-game disc switching support for multidisc games, including M3U-based game sets.
• Added an Acknowledgments page for open-source projects, Libretro contributors, and homebrew games used in RetroGo promotional materials.
• Improved legal and attribution information inside the About page. 1.4.1 May 31 Version 1.4.0 brings a major redesign to how you browse and discover games.

• All-new tab bar navigation — Library, Discover, and Settings each have
their own dedicated tab for faster, cleaner access.

• Game Discovery — explore game databases for all supported platforms
directly inside the app. Look up titles, check compatibility, and find
what you want without leaving RetroGo.

• Redesigned Library — browse your collection the way you prefer: icon
grid, list, grouped by core, grouped by tag, or a full folder tree.
Every folder is its own page, making deep collections easy to navigate.

• Platform icons — each system now has its own icon in the library, so
you can tell platforms apart at a glance. Icons across the rest of the
app have been refined too.

• Fixed a button conflict that prevented the accelerate button from
working correctly in PSP racing games. 1.4.0 May 30 1. Added RetroGo Pro support.
2. Improved purchase and entitlement management.
3. Minor stability and UI improvements. 1.3.1 May 18 1. Added per-player external controller mapping with in-app binding configuration.
2. Added persistent game-level input binding profiles, automatically restored per ROM.
3. Added configurable core/game options: video driver, audio driver, and mute during fast-forward.
4. Added overlay touch player assignment and improved virtual/physical input coordination.
5. Improved stability for Saturn (Yabause) when exiting with connected controllers. 1.3.0 May 8 1. Architecture Overhaul: Decoupled rendering from game logic. By offloading logic to an independent thread, we’ve achieved more consistent frame pacing and superior system responsiveness.
2. Multi-Speed Fast Forward: New support for 2x, 3x, 4x, and 6x speeds. Skip repetitive sequences and boost your gameplay efficiency instantly.
3. High-Fidelity Fast Forward Audio: Integrated the signalsmith-stretch algorithm to provide smooth audio time-stretching, eliminating noise and artifacts during fast forward.
4. Granular Configuration: Upgraded settings system with per-core and per-game overrides. You can now define unique parameters for every classic title. 1.2.0 Apr 23 1. version 1.13.1

posted on 2026-10-14

• Added a Popular Games section to the cheat template catalog, making it faster to find cheats for well-known titles without searching.

• System cheat templates can now be copied as editable user cheats in one tap — customize any built-in entry without modifying the original.
• The analog stick now features dynamic thumb tracking: the base follows your finger as you drag, and keeps responding even when you move outside the original touch zone.

• New landscape lock button to keep the game fixed in landscape while you play.
• The entire app now rotates with your device, not just the game screen.
